In 2020, 26 companies decided to invest in one of the 51 business parks<\/a> owned by IDELUX D\u00e9veloppement<\/a> in Luxembourg Province. This is an encouraging result for our economy, given the ongoing health situation. Especially given the circumstances as 2021 begins.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Fantastic results for 2020<\/h2>\n

Our results in terms of sales and rentals are a lovely surprise for our team. 26 sales: in other words 26 teams have carefully reflected on their growth and decided to invest in real estate despite the health situation.<\/p>\n

In total, almost 16 hectares<\/span>, or an average of about 6,000m\u00b2 per project<\/span>, have been purchased. Together, these 26 companies account for 401 jobs<\/span>. These all represent families whose livelihoods have been bolstered.<\/p>\n

When they can\u2019t manage with their own funds, businesses have to borrow. In other words, put a convincing case across for the reliability of their projects. And they have managed to do just that. In addition, new businesses are giving a real boost to the construction industry, as well as the industrial equipment sector. Some people refer to this as a virtuous circle, and we are delighted to be able to play our own part in it.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s meet 3 of them<\/h2>\n

We have decided to put the spotlight on three of the 26 new companies. Starting with La Fromagerie du Samson<\/a> in Mozet in the province of Namur. It has been offering its own products for nearly 40 years, alongside a number of carefully selected tasty treats. The cheese dairy has been awarded organic certification and six years ago, its new owner – Vincent VERLEYEN – was voted best cheese maker in Belgium<\/span>. In order to meet growing demand, the cheese dairy is setting up a new production unit for artisan cheeses made from raw milk at<\/span> the Wex business park (Marche-en-Famenne)<\/span><\/a>. The new cheese dairy is designed to recreate the exact same atmosphere as a cheese cave, inspired by an innovative idea introduced at the Mons cheese dairy in Auvergne<\/a> (F).<\/p>\n

\"DSC09529\"<\/p>\n

For three generations, the Roberty<\/span><\/a> family business has specialised in roadworks and land development<\/span> for both private and public clients. Based at the Vaux-Chavanne (Manhay) business park<\/a> since 2013, the company is flourishing<\/span>. The fact that its workforce has recently gone from 20 to 47 employees<\/span> says it all. It has just acquired an additional plot (\u00b11 hectare) to develop the production of lean concrete and lime-treated soil using the rubble from its earthwork<\/span>. The plan is to set up a processing unit (hoppers, conveyor belts, mixer), a weighing machine and a technical building.<\/p>\n

\"DSC09210\"<\/p>\n

BJX<\/span> is involved in motorway roadworks: earthwork, construction, planting and signage. The company also develops and maintains green spaces and playgrounds<\/span>. Based in Perwez, in Walloon Brabant, it has 25 employees<\/span>. With its decision to set up two of its subsidiaries – Sotraplant and Eurogreen<\/span> – at the Recogne business park (Libramont)<\/a>, the company plans to hire 10 more people, for an estimated investment of 800,000 Euros<\/span>. Great news in the current climate!<\/p>\n

2020, an unusual year<\/span><\/h2>\n

As soon as the first lockdown was announced, our teams went into overdrive to help businesses and the self-employed deal with the consequences of the epidemic.<\/span> Working with Luxembourg Province and in consultation with the Chamber of Commerce, the UCM, the HoReCa Federation and trade unions, they launched 14 practical initiatives<\/a> last May.<\/span><\/p>\n

These initiatives were relaunched in the 2nd lockdown and extended to struggling not-for-profit organisations in Luxembourg Province in March 2021<\/span>. Among other things, IDELUX has introduced a number of funding schemes designed to consolidate cash flow<\/span> for very small businesses and the self-employed by granting easy-access loans at preferential interest rates<\/span>, benefiting several dozen companies, particularly in the HoReCa sector, as well as self-employed workers.<\/span><\/p>\n

IDELUX D\u00e9veloppement<\/a> has worked really hard to listen to what economic stakeholders really need, anticipate their requirements and equip spaces<\/span> that are in the right location for working and doing business. This means mobilising adequate resources… years in advance. This is what our region needs to do if it wants to remain open to economic initiative. In the whole of Luxembourg Province, there are currently 377 hectares available to businesses.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to the work involved in establishing the right facilities, our team of business consultants<\/span><\/a> works closely with businesses on a daily basis. In fact, although their work begins with the initial contact and the first sign of interest, it extends well beyond choosing a location, encompassing a range of valuable services<\/a> in (almost) every field of expertise that a company might need. <\/span><\/span>

Funding? IDELUX Finances<\/a> has been involved in real estate leasing for more than 20 years. Luxembourg D\u00e9veloppement<\/a>, run by local businessmen, supports investment in growing SMEs.<\/p>\n
